摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine for restraining erroneous diagnosis of presence or absence of abnormality of an oxidation catalyst and a fuel addition valve. <P>SOLUTION: The oxidation catalyst 17 is arranged in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine 10 and the fuel addition valve 16 for supplying the fuel for the oxidation catalyst 17 is arranged at an upstream side from the oxidation catalyst 17. When diagnosing presence or absence of abnormality of the oxidation catalyst 17 and the fuel addition valve 16, an electronic control device 40 diagnoses that the oxidation catalyst 17 is normal and the fuel addition valve 16 is abnormal in case that an instruction to supply the fuel to the fuel addition valve 16 is output and a temperature rise degree &Delta;TC of the oxidation catalyst 17 accompanying this does not correspond to the supply of the fuel and in case that an instruction to execute post injection for the fuel injection valve 14 is output and the temperature rise degree &Delta;TC of the oxidation catalyst 17 corresponds to supply of the fuel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
