<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of stably producing a toner having better image characteristics, by which thermal damages on toner particles can be suppressed while reducing an organic volatile component, in a method of producing a toner by a polymerization method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method includes a volatile component removing step of carrying out a heating treatment by use of a thin film vaporizing machine, wherein the heating treatment is carried out in a temperature range from a temperature of (glass transition temperature Tg of the toner particles)+10°C to Tg+150°C, and the heating treatment is carried out by use of a rotatable stirring member 13 that can eject a fluid, while ejecting a fluid 25 toward the inner circumference wall of the thin film vaporizing machine.
