The roller (1) has a roll (3) rotatable relative to a retaining device (2). The roll includes a roll carrier and a surface layer (3a) i.e. felt layer, attached and arranged on the roll carrier. The roll carrier bends flexibly around an axis (4) that is transverse to longitudinal direction of the roll, where ends of the roll are mounted at the retaining device. The roll carrier is mounted on the bending-flexible axis made of spring steel. The surface layer consists of elastomer material. A biasing roller is rotatably arranged on the retaining device. An independent claim is also included for a method for an application of a lacquer foil on a surface of a body part of a vehicle.
