The washing container is connected in a groove-shaped receptacle (8) of the base carrier by mechanical clamping of its fastening device with the base carrier in a firm and waterproof manner. The washing container is made of metal, particularly high-grade steel or chrome steel, and the base carrier is made of plastic, particularly polypropylene. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing a household dishwasher.
