摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell, the electrode suitably maintaining a wet condition of a solid polymer film by securing suitable water retention characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: In the electrode 1 for the polymer electrolyte fuel cell made of a gas diffusion layer 2 with conductivity and ventilation characteristics and a catalyst layer 3 including a catalyst 6 carried by a catalyst carrier, the gas diffusion layer 2 is provided with cup-stack type carbon nanotube at a designated length, and a calcined film in which conductive fillers shorter in length than the cup-stack type carbon nanotube are mixed.
