<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light-emitting element, in which the material of an adhesive layer is prevented from migrating to between a reflection layer and a substrate. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor light-emitting element 100 includes a semiconductor light-emitting element structure 20 that has a light-emitting layer 3 on a first principal surface of the light-transmitting substrate 1 provided with the first principal surface and a second principal surface. The semiconductor light-emitting element also includes, on the second principle surface, the reflection layer 8 that reflects light-emitted from the light-emitting layer 3 of the semiconductor light-emitting element structure 20, an insulation layer 9 that covers the upper surface, opposite to the substrate 1, and side surfaces of the reflection layer 8, and an intermediate layer 10 and the adhesive layer 11 that are provided on the upper surface, opposite to the reflection layer 8, of the insulation layer 9.
