<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein, since what extent of a color material is used in what part in print data can not be recognized, it is difficult to print the print data by intuitively and efficiently reducing the usage of the color material. <P>SOLUTION: Emphasis display in accordance with the usage of a color material required for printing an object is applied to every object in print data to be displayed on a preview screen. The usage of the color material is allowed to be changed on an object basis, and when the usage of the color material is changed, change of a preview image of the object by the change and change of emphasis display in accordance with the usage of the color material are reflected on the preview screen in real time.
