<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform proper management of operation information by considering an installation state of an image forming apparatus based on information which is obtained from the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Identification information including an IP address, a MAC address, and a product number of the image forming apparatus together with operation information of a counter is received via a network (S601). Then, determination is made whether or not the received identification information coincides with registered information (S605 to S607).
