<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of making longer service life of a replacement part by reducing the physical load of the fixing device arranged on the downstream side of two fixing devices, during a both-side copy mode. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: passage detection sections (70 and 71) which detect a non-passing state where paper P does not continuously pass through a second fixing section 17B; and a control section 15 which performs at least one of control for making low the rotational speed of a rotation drive section 84 and control for making a cam mechanism section 82 release the second fixing section, only when the passage detection sections (70 and 71) detect the non-passing state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
