PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring method and a monitoring system of a leaked carbon dioxide stored in a seabed stratum capable of efficiently detecting that the carbon dioxide stored in the seabed stratum is leaked from the sea bottom. SOLUTION: Each undersea acoustic device 10 is installed on the sea bottom so that a sound transmitted from each undersea acoustic device 10 is received by the other undersea acoustic device 10, and it is estimated that the stored carbon dioxide is leaked into the sea from the seabed stratum in a first domain where sea water density is changed based on the information of the transmission/reception of a sound by the undersea acoustic device 10, and a second domain where the stored carbon dioxide is leaked is specified in the first domain by an unroped submersible machine 30, and a spot where the stored carbon dioxide is leaked is specified in the second domain by a roped submersible machine 40. The state of the leaked carbon dioxide is measured periodically and/or continuously at a spot where the stored carbon dioxide is leaked. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
