<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information processing apparatus not falling easily even if a user inputs on a touch panel with a touch pen or the like in a violent manner. <P>SOLUTION: The portable information processing apparatus 601 includes a touch panel 602, support 603, a pressure unit 604, a generation unit 605, and a processing unit 606. The generation unit 605 receives contact position information detected by the touch panel 602, and upon receiving a pressure detection signal of the pressure unit 604, generates instruction information for designating the position of contact on the touch panel 602.
