<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system enabling a host device to notify how printing is performed on the paper surface of which paper from which paper feeding opening before printing when paper feeding opening setting is set in automatic selection in a printer provided with a plurality of paper feeding openings to print a print job. <P>SOLUTION: The printing system includes: the printer which includes a plurality of paper feeding means and prints a print job in which paper feeding opening setting is set in automatic selection; and the host device for displaying a printing preview. The printer discriminates a paper feeding opening to feed paper and transmits paper feeding opening information showing the discriminated paper feeding opening to the host device.
