SAFE DRIVING SUPPORT SYSTEM AND ONBOARD TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a real time property of information from being lost, which is caused by crowding of communication when achieving safe driving support by use of the wide-area wireless communication by an onboard terminal loaded in a vehicle. SOLUTION: In this safe driving support system, the crowding of the wide-area wireless communication is avoided by limiting a service target of the safe driving support to a specific area having a high traffic accident occurrence rate. The onboard terminal loaded in the vehicle having to receive a service of the safe driving support downloads information about the specific area from a processing center by the wide-area wireless communication to obtain the information about the specific area. When the onboard terminal loaded in the vehicle performs registration processing to a base station, the information about the specific area defined inside an update area of the base station of the wide-area wireless communication is downloaded.
