The device has a fuel injection valve (10) i.e. injector, for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber (5) through an injecting area (12) during operation of an internal combustion engine (1). A cleaning nozzle is provided in the injecting area, where cleaning gas flows from the combustion chamber to the injecting area through the cleaning nozzle for cleaning purposes. The cleaning nozzle includes an annular area (18), which surrounds the injecting area at the fuel injection valve. An annular disk with a cleaning gas guiding channel is held in the annular area.
