PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize liquid ejection by determining a state of liquid at a time of beginning to apply an after-ejecting pulse based on a pulse interval and beginning to apply the after-ejecting pulse at the time of an appropriate state. SOLUTION: A liquid ejecting apparatus has a temperature-obtaining part (a temperature sensor 51) for obtaining a temperature, a pressure chamber 43 communicating with a nozzle 44, an element 45 for activating to give a pressure change to the liquid in the pressure chamber, and a pulse generating part 30, 60 for generating the early-ejecting pulse and the after-ejecting pulse which activate the element to eject the liquid from the nozzle, and determining a pulse interval Pwdis from the end of early-ejecting pulse generation to the beginning of after-ejecting pulse generation based on a detected temperature by the temperature sensor.
