PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-adhesive composition for a polarizing plate which is excellent in light leakage preventing effect as well as excellent in durability without using high energy rays. SOLUTION: The self-adhesive composition for the polarizing plate contains components (A) through (C). (A): 100 pts.mass of a (meth)acrylic polymer which is obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing 1-8 mass% of a carboxy group-containing monomer and has a weight-average molecular weight of 250,000-600,000 and a ratio of a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) to a number-average molecular weight (Mn), Mw/Mn, of 3.5 or less.
