PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent entry into a guard area from an opening/closing section without releasing guard of guarding equipment. SOLUTION: This machine guarding facility includes a lock K at the opening/closing section for going in and out of the guard area, and a guarding operation terminal T provided outside the guard area to switch the guarding state of the guarding equipment in the guard area over to a guard release state or a guarding state. The machine guarding facility is provided with an insertion preventing means for preventing the insertion of a key into a keyhole H of the lock K, and a keyhole operation control device HC for invalidating the insertion preventing means during the release of guard by the guarding operation terminal T to permit the insertion of the key into the keyhole H and validating the insertion preventing means during guarding to inhibit the insertion of the key into the keyhole H. The insertion preventing means is a keyhole cover F controlled to open/close in front of the keyhole H and stored inside a casing, and when using the key, the keyhole cover F is slid along the rear face of a body cover 3 to open/close an opening 5.
