PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new glutathione production promotor which promotes the glutathione production by the living body itself and persistently improves physiological functions in the living body. SOLUTION: The glutathione production promotor includes an extract from Rosa centifolia Linne, genus Rosa, Rosaceae family as the effective component. The glutathione production promotor acts, upon uptake into the living body, directly on the glutathione production pathway in the living body to promote glutathione production and exhibits such actions as 1. energy metabolism promotion, 2. anti-oxidation, 3. detoxification, 4. anti-allergy, and 5. anti-pigmentation. Since the effective component is naturally originated, the glutathione production promotor is highly safe and may continuously be used for long time, and, therefore, may suitably be used for external preparations for the skin and cosmetics.
