<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work attachment, easy to form even a complicated pattern, and suitable for a parchment craft by utilizing a mechanism and a device included in an existing sewing machine and a sewing machine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The work attachment 70 is settably/removably mounted on a presser bar 16 of the sewing machine equipped with a needle bar 15 and the presser bar 16 and includes a body 71, a connection part 72, a needle member 73 and a needle member lifting mechanism 74. The body 71 can be mounted on the bottom of the presser bar 15. The connection part 72 can be connected with a needle holder 43 provided on the bottom of the needle bar 15 and is liftable up/down together with the needle bar 15 following up/down lifting of the needle bar 15 with a needle bar lifting mechanism 26. The needle member 73 penetrates a workpiece to form a hole in it. The mechanism 74 lifts the needle member 73 up/down through up/down lifting of the connection part 72.
