The mechanism has a sensor wheel (28) connected with a rotor (8) and a sensor arranged at a torque-proof part of a drive system and cooperative with the sensor wheel. The sensor is arranged at a sensor carrier (26) connected with a stator (4). The sensor wheel is arranged at a rotor hub (10) radially formed within the rotor. The sensor carrier lies opposite to sensor elements of the sensor wheel. The sensor carrier is in the form of a disk covering a front side of a synchronous electric machine (2) i.e. permanent magnet machine.
