PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sprue bush high in reliability and excellent in cooling performance, and a method for manufacturing the sprue bush. SOLUTION: In a column 5 wherein a sprue hole 15 is formed in the middle, spiral cooling passages 19 and 21 in which cooling mediums circulate are formed to surround the sprue hole 15. The sprue bush 1 can be obtained based on slice data on a cooling passage 11 by processing a groove which forms the cooling passage in each of a plurality of metal plates, laminating the groove-processed metal plates in a prescribed order, diffusion-bonding the laminated metal plates, and shape-processing a metal block obtained by the diffusion bonding. By forming the thickness of the metal plate to such a thickness which allows a through-hole perpendicular to the metal plate as a part of a groove to be protrusive, the smooth spiral cooling passages 19 and 21 without steps can be formed.
