摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-stage turbo system simply constructed while using small turbo superchargers. <P>SOLUTION: The two-stage turbo system includes an internal combustion engine 1, two turbo superchargers 2A, 2B to be driven by exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine 1, a plurality of control valves V1-V5 for changing over a flow path between intake gas to be sucked into the internal combustion engine 1 and the exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine 1, and a control device for controlling the plurality of control valves V1-V5 and the turbo superchargers 2A, 2B. The two turbo superchargers 2A, 2B have the same turbo capacity and function as the high pressure side turbo supercharger 2A on the upstream side of an exhaust passage and the low pressure side turbo supercharger 2B on the downstream side of the exhaust passage, respectively. With the change-over of the flow path using the control valves V1-V5, they establish a series mode in which the two turbo superchargers 2A, 2B are connected in series to each other, a one-stage supercharging mode in which gas flows only in the high pressure side turbo supercharger 2A or only in the low pressure side turbo supercharger 2B, or a parallel mode in which the two turbo superchargers 2A, 2B are connected in parallel to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
