<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform processing for creating a new musical piece which is full of variety so as to be different from a melody before editing, while making the use of a feature of the melody before editing. <P>SOLUTION: A device for melody modification includes: an inversion means for performing vertical inversion of notes and rests in a range selected by a user, with setting a note indicated by the user as a center; a selection means for selecting whether or not, half tone progress processing is performed on the inverted notes and rests; and a processing means for performing half tone progress processing on the inverted notes and rests. When the half tone progress processing is selected by the user, half tone progress processing of the notes and rests inverted by the inversion means is performed. Thereby, vertical inversion processing is performed without becoming unnatural, even on a musical piece whose melody becomes unnatural by mechanical inversion processing. Moreover, even a beginner without sufficient editing knowledge can easily create a new musical piece which is full of variety so as to be different from the melody before editing, while making the use of a feature of the melody before editing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
