<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of easily positioning and detecting a cover member in configuration that a cover member is supported in a state of having play. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a body housing 2; a rear cover 100 (cover member) which is rotatably supported to the body housing 2 in a state of having a backlash at upper and lower parts and is openable/closable to the body housing 2; an upper wall part 211 and a lower wall part 212 (a pair of wall parts) which project toward the rear cover 100 and face each other in the vertical direction; an opening/closing sensor 220 which is fixed between the pair of wall parts to detect opening/closing of the rear cover 100; an engagement part 150 which engages with the pair of wall parts when the rear cover 100 is closed; and an operation part 140 which is projected to be arranged in the rear cover 100, acts on the opening/closing sensor 220 when the rear cover 100 is closed and the pair of wall parts engage with the engagement part 150 to make the opening/closing sensor 220 output a signal showing that the rear cover 100 is at a closed state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
