PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear vehicle body structure capable of simplifying a vehicle body structure around a suspension while securing supporting rigidity of a suspension for a rear wheel, and sufficiently supporting a rear differential device even when the structure is simplified. SOLUTION: A suspension cross member 20, to which a suspension 10 for a rear wheel is mounted, is provided below a kick-up floor part 2c between right and left rear side frames 4, 4. This structure includes a body part 30a extending in a vehicle width direction at almost the same position above the cross member and in a vehicle forward and backward direction; and a forward extension part 30b extending forward along a tunnel part 2d from the center of the vehicle width direction of the body part 30a, and coupled with the tunnel part 2d.
