<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a programmable logic controller for quickly performing data transmission. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The programmable logic controller is obtained by improving a programmable logic controller configured to receive a command from an external device, and to return data. The programmable logic controller includes: a data storage part 21; a flag storage part 22; an arithmetic processing part 23 for, when a flag under reading of the flag storage part 22 is turned on, turning on the flag under writing of the flag storage part 22, and for writing data into the data storage part 21; and a command processing part 24 for receiving a command from the external device, and for, when the flag under writing of the flag storage part 22 is turned off, turning on the flag under reading of the flag storage part 22, and for transmitting the data of the data storage part 21 to the external device.
