<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syringe needle, even if introducing the syringe needle into a phase-separated specimen, capable of injecting a component into a lower phase or extracting a component from the lower phase without being affected by the upper phase; and to provide a use method of the syringe needle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This syringe needle 1 including a hollow cylindrical section 4 and a distal end 3, further includes an opening/closing device 2 at an opening section which is present at a side face of the cylindrical section 4 or the distal end 3. Alternatively, this use method includes steps for: introducing the syringe needle 1 into the specimen having the upper phase consisting of a solid or liquid, and the lower phase located below the upper phase and consisting of liquid; opening/closing the opening/closing device 2 of the syringe needle 1 in the lower phase and; injecting the component into the lower phase or extracting the component from the lower phase.
