[Also in Groups XVI and XVII] In a machine for forming tubular cardboard wrappers for light bulbs &c. (see Group XVII) a web is fed from creasing and glueing rollers 43, 44 to cutting knives 54 for severing into lengths prior to folding to tube form. The knives 54 are rotated by a shaft 51 driven through gearing by the roller 44. The knives co-operate with a fixed knife edge (not shown). A sponge 55, kept damp from a tap 56, contacts the knives to keep them clean. |
