The frequency converter (10) comprises a buffering device for storing a pre-determined amount of electric energy. The buffering device maintains a nominal output of the frequency converter required for the operation of a power load for a pre-determined period of time. An input voltage is dropped during a fault condition by releasing the stored electrical energy. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a frequency converter.
