Sorting method and assembly with two different groups of dispensing devices

The method involves using a sorting plan in each sorting operations. Articles i.e. postal items, are removed from output devices (AE1-AE6) and delivered to a sorting system according to one of operations. The articles pass a sorting system in subsequent operation. The output devices are divided into lower and upper groups (R1, R2). The articles are outputted in one of the operations according to the plan. The output devices (AE1, AE2) of the upper group are assigned to less characteristic value than other output devices (AE4, AE5) of the lower group assigned to the characteristic value. An independent claim is also included for a sorting system for sorting an article.
