Class 89 (ii) Staples are bent up from wire or strip with a central leg 13 of double thickness. The end legs 12, are left sufficiently sharp by the cutting of the wire but the leg 13 may be sharpened during making. The end legs may be shorter than the centre leg or may be omitted forming a T-headed nail. In a further form the nail is a strip with a number of spaced intermediate legs of double thickness. The nails or staples are connected in lengths by adhesive for use in nailing-machines.
