<p>A parking brake actuator (10) includes a mounting bracket (12) and a cover plate (14). A brake operating assembly (16) includes a lever (22) and a locking sector gear (26). A locking clutch spring assembly (34) includes a pinion rivet (46), a shaft (48), a flange (50), first (52) and second (54) tubular portions and a pinion (58) with a plurality of teeth (64). A torsion spring (66) is wrapped about the first tubular portion (52) and the pinion (58). A first leg (68) of a release spring abuts a first arm (80) of a release lever (76). A release cable (90) is connected to a second arm (84) of the release lever (76). A brake cable (18) is connected to an adjusting sector gear (36), which is engageable with an adjusting clutch spring assembly (40).</p> |
