A compliant conveyance system (10) for processing mailpieces along a feed path (FP), e.g., printing on a first surface of a mailpiece (14), while being registered against a contact surface of a registration plate (18). The conveyance system comprises at least one conveyor belt (20) opposing the contact surface of the registration plate (18), a continuous, uninterrupted, compliant deck (12) disposed beneath and supporting an underside surface of the conveyor belt (20), and a spring biasing device operative to bias the compliant deck (12) and the conveyor belt (20) toward the contact surface of the registration plate (18). |
