Class 64 (ii) In a radiant heating panel, e.g. for suspension from a beam or attachment to a wall, interconnected ducts for a flow of a heating fluid are formed by welding members 11 of angular section, at their edges, to a plate 10, the opposite ends of at least one member being welded about orifices in the sides of two channel or other hollow-section members 13. Each of the members 13 has triangular orifices to the members 11 and forms a header 14, Fig. 3. Short tube lengths are welded around circular orifices 17 in a side wall of each header 14 to form an inlet 15 and an outlet 16 for the heating fluid. The members 11, 13 are enclosed by insulating material (in the form of strips, secured along the edge of the plate 10 around the duct system boundary, and a plate-size sheet secured to the strips), so that heat is radiated from the opposite face of the plate. A number of panels may be connected in parallel between further separate headers or in series, e.g. mounted one above another against columns. |
