PURPOSE: A Saccharomyces cerevisiae 54-8 wild type for glutathione high-expression is provided to produce glutathione of high efficiency and to enhance livestock growth with low price. CONSTITUTION: A Saccharomyces cerevisiae 54-8 wild type(deposit number KACC 93069P) which highly expresses glutathione is isolated from Makkoli(white rice wine). The glutathione is produced by isolating glutathione from Saccharomyces cerevisiae 54-8 wild type culture. A composition for livestock feed additive contains Saccharomyces cerevisiae 54-8 wild type culture or isolated stain, or glutathione isolated from the same.
