PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling traveling of an electric bicycle with a motor are provided to rapidly reduce currents when excessive currents are generated and to control currents required for powering a motor. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling traveling of an electric bicycle with a motor comprises a driving current measuring unit(170) and an MCU(160). The driving current measuring unit measures a driving current of a motor. The MCU compares the driving current measured from the driving current measuring unit with a reference value and controls the driving current by applying a PWM signal to a motor driving unit.
