Subject: method for the production of carotenoids from whey after partial deproteinization and hydrolysis of lactose with ATCC 14271 and ATCC 14272 stems of the mycete Blakeslea trispora into columnbioreactor. The substrate is enriched with Tween 80, Span 80 and &bgr;-ionone. The produced carotenoids are composed of g-carotene, lycopene and b-carotene in greater proportion. The air supply rate influences the composition of carotenoids. Advantage: high productivity of carotenoids (400 mg carotenoids/litre of substrate per day) in an industrial scale. Embodiment: use as food supplements, addictives for fodder, colorants for food and drinks, antioxydants for food conserves, main components for the preparation of cosmetic products; use in the pharmaceutical industry for combating cancer, cardiovascular diseases, cataract, arteriosclerosis and other severe diseases. |
