METHOD OF RANGING CONSIDERING STATUS OF A MOBILE STATION IN A BROADBAND WIRELESS ACCESS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for performing ranging depending on a state of terminal in a broadband wireless connection system is provided to report the purpose of ranging to a base station efficiently according to a terminal state. CONSTITUTION: Processors(20,30) obtain ranging code subset information, and the processor selects one from a ranging code subset corresponding to a processor state if the performance of ranging is required. The processor transmits the selected code to a ranging region of a base station under the control of wireless communication modules(40,50). If uplink resource allocation information corresponding to the code is received, the processor transmits a ranging request message to the base station through the information.
