PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifetime detection device and a lifetime detection method which can detect, from the operations of the system as a whole, points causing unstable operation. SOLUTION: Temperature-correcting units 21, 49 calculate a temperature correction value, after receiving temperature information from temperature sensors 18, 45. Ripple monitor units 22, 48 monitor and detect the ripple voltages of electrolytic capacitors 19, 44, 46. Current-correcting units 23, 47 receive the current flowing in resistors 20, 41 for calculating a current correction value. Coupling sections 25, 51 couple the temperature correction value and the current correction value to the ripple voltage to output a determination signal Wd for determining the lifetime. Lifetime-determining units 26, 52 receive the determination signal Wd to determine the life of the system on a Vcc line side and on a power supply line side, respectively. An alarm signal generating/outputting section 60 receive a determination result by the lifetime deciding units 26, 52 and determine the lifetime of the lifetime detection system 1A as a whole.
