PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that erroneous detection may occur depending on users since each user performs an operation with different strength and motion size even in a prescribed motion when using an operation means for detecting a prescribed motion by acceleration detection. SOLUTION: A detection device includes an acceleration detection means for detecting an acceleration component of deflection, and a motion detection means for detecting deflection given by an operator to execute predetermined processing from an output of the acceleration detection means. The motion detection means detects deflection given by the operator when an acceleration signal detected by the acceleration detection means reaches a first threshold and then reaches a second threshold having a sign differing from that of the first threshold and an absolute value larger than the first threshold.
