<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic latent image-developing toner of high reliability with stable charging performance and image performance of the toner and little deterioration even at the occurrence of slight sinking of an external additive under long-term use in a high-speed machine, and to provide a method for manufacturing the toner and an image forming method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrostatic latent image-developing toner with the external additive added to colored particles contains inorganic particles with a primary number average particle size of 5-50 nm as the external additive. Three or more recesses meeting the following requirements exist in each particle of the toner, and the inorganic particles are localized in the recesses: 200 nm<Tr<1000 nm and 100<Td<500 nm, wherein Tr is the width of the recess, and Td is the maximum depth of the recess.
