The medical object (2) has a material, which is identified by a material reconstruction method based on a radiograph of the medical object with a photon counting energy resolving X-ray detector (6). The medical object is marked to make visible in the radiograph. The material is selected from the group, iodine, gadolinium, silver, palladium, nickel, tellurium, barium, neodymium or tantalum. An independent claim is also included for a method for visualization of a medical object.
