The method involves winding a coil unit (20) of a phase winding around a winding bar. A coil connector of a phase winding is subsequently laid in one direction and another coil unit (22) is wound over the coil connector. The latter coil unit embraces or goes over two coil connectors that connect the coil units of respective different phase windings that follow each other in succession on the winding bar. - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method of making a stator.
