<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing methacrolein and methacrylic acid from isobutylene with high conversion and high selectivity. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for producing isobutylene and methyl methacrylate is represented by formula (1): Mo<SB>12</SB>Bi<SB>b</SB>Fe<SB>c</SB>A<SB>d</SB>B<SB>e</SB>O<SB>f</SB>[in the formula, Mo represents a molybdenum atom, Bi represents a bismuth atom, and Fe represents an iron atom respectively; A represents at least one atom selected from the group consisting of nickel and cobalt; and B represents at least one atom selected from the group consisting of potassium, rubidium, cesium, and thallium]. The cumulative pore volume thereof is at least 0.3 cm<SP>3</SP>/g. The volume of a macro-pore therein having a pore diameter of at least 1 μm, is 0.04 to 0.15 cm<SP>3</SP>/g. The product (X×Y) of the specific surface area (X) and the filling bulk density (Y) thereof is 3.3 to 5 m<SP>2</SP>/cm<SP>3</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
