<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a moving image decoder capable of accurately generating decoded images from encoded images outputted by a moving image encoder. <P>SOLUTION: When storing a reference image in a frame buffer comprised of a short-term frame buffer and a long-term frame buffer, a control means controls timing to store a decoded image as the reference image and stores the decoded image in the frame buffer. When prediction mode information decoded from an input bitstream indicates two reference images are used for motion compensation prediction, a motion compensation means generates a predicted image by performing compensation using the two reference images stored in the frame buffer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
