<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide proteins which comprise stretches of an amino acid sequence that are shared across the majority of Neisseria, particularly N. meningitidis and N. gonorrhoeae. <P>SOLUTION: To ensure maximum cross-strain recognition and reactivity, the regions of proteins that are conserved between different Neisserial species, serogroups and strains can be used. There are provided proteins which comprise stretches of an amino acid sequence that are shared across the majority of Neisseria, particularly N. meningitidis and N. gonorrhoeae. The protein comprises a fragment of a Neisserial protein, wherein the fragment consists of 7 or more consecutive conserved amino acids, provided that the protein is not a full-length Neisserial protein. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
