PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a higher fatty acid metal salt block which does not damage the function as a lubricant, causes no cracking or chipping in manufacture or use thereof, and can regulate the abrasion amount in use thereof, thereby allowing regulation of service life of the block. SOLUTION: The higher fatty acid metal salt block contains 0.01 to 10 pts.wt. of a metal salt of an acidic phosphate ester based on 100 pts.wt. of a metal soap of a higher fatty acid which may have a hydroxy group, wherein the higher fatty acid metal soap whose metal species is a group 2 element, a group 12 element, or a group 13 element in Periodic Table, and the metal species of the metal salt of the acidic phosphate ester is a metal of a group 1 element, a group 2 element, a group 12 element, or a group 13 element in Periodic Table.
