<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a ball passage unit capable of securing smooth execution of the game by releasing caught game balls to pass. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The control method for the ball passage unit includes a first rotator for holding a game ball at a first angular position and releasing the held ball at a second angular position. If a detecting means does not detect the presence of the first rotator at a fourth angular position after execution of a step of rotating the first rotator to the fourth angular position, caught ball releasing control, in which a step of rotating the first rotator in one direction and a step of rotating the first rotator in the reverse direction are executed, is executed.
