<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assembling a ball screw device, capable of reducing variation in a contraction amount of a lead of a ball screw track accompanying fastening of a fastening nut. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ball screw device 1 includes a hollow screw shaft 2 having the ball screw track 2a, a ball screw nut 3 screwed with the ball screw track 2a of the screw shaft 2 via a ball 4, a rod 7 inserted in the screw shaft, and a fastening means 12 for fastening the screw shaft 2 to the rod 7. Upon assembling the ball screw device 1, the fastening nut 12 is fastened while measuring the distance between two points of the screw shaft 2 by a two-point distance measuring means 20, and fastening is ended when the two-point distance reaches a prescribed value.
