<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a closed cross-section member made from metal, in which the closed cross-section member is manufactured and a hole is accurately formed in the closed cross-section member. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method includes a first press-forming step of press-forming a plate workpiece W1 in a projecting shape, and forming a projecting part W2a projected in the direction opposite to the projecting direction in a projecting shape of the plate workpiece W1 on a projecting top face part W2 when manufacturing a closed cross-section member out of the metallic plate workpiece, and a second press-forming step of forming a press-formed surface by squeezing the projecting part W2a by press-forming the projecting part W2a of the plate workpiece W1 in the projecting direction in a projecting shape of the plate workpiece W1, and forming a closed cross-section by displacing projecting side face parts inwardly. In the first press-forming step, the projecting part W2a and a part W2f having no projecting part are provided on the projecting top face part W2 of the plate workpiece W1 in the longitudinal direction of the plate workpiece W1, and a hole part W2h is formed in the part W2f where the projecting part W2a is not formed.
